Rent the Runway Comes to Georgetown

With Fashion Designer Christian SirianoRent the Runway, a revolutionary fashion institution, has arrived in Washington D.C! Fashionistas, bloggers, journalists, and fans flocked to the chic grand opening event last night at it’s new Georgetown store on M Street. For those of you living under a rock, Rent the Runway is an online store where women can rent gorgeous designer dresses and accessories. Founded in 2009 by CEO Jennifer Hyman and Head of Business Development Jennifer Fleiss, Rent the Runway began building retail locations in 2013 with Georgetown being their fourth store in the U.S.

The boutique is gorgeous, modern, and of course the dresses and accessories are to die for! Merchandised by the color of garment, the space is a visual odyssey of stunning gowns and has an intimate feeling of being in someone’s very fabulous walk-in closet and dressing room. Shimmering chandeliers, lush flowers, and lux velvet furnishings make Rent the Runway’s Georgetown boutique the perfect space for IMG_7885fashionistas to call home.

Special guests included founders Jennifer Hyman and Jennifer Fleiss, Fashion Designer Christian Siriano, and FLOTUS makeup artist Carl Ray. While ladies sipped wine and nibbled on delectable macaroons from MalMaison, other party-goers took advantage of the full-length “selfie” mirrors to snap momentos of the festive soiree. Upon leaving, guests were given a goodie bag along with an exquisite signed sketch from Christian Siriano.

The evening was elegant, fun, and of course full of good fashionable people-watching!IMG_7882
